An introduction to the Icelandic horse

For those who don´t want to ride but do want to interact with and get to know more about the Icelandic horse, we offer a guided tour of the stable. Here you'll get a chance to be around the horses, pet them to your heart's content, take beautiful pictures and learn of their long history. Your guide will explain what makes them a truly unique breed of horses and you are free to ask any questions.

We also offer a horse rental for children up to 12 years old, where they can help brushing a horse, try a bit of riding and small games as a guide assists them around the riding hall.

• ​Price per person - 5.500 ISK
• Duration - 30-40 mins
• Children under 12 years old are free of charge and do not need a ticket, when accompanied by an adult 
• Possible to add horse rental for children to the booking* - 6.500 ISK per child - total duration: approx. 30 mins including preparation

*Horse rental for children can be added in the step after having provided your contact information. 

Looking for a private experience?
This tour can also be booked as a private departure at different times. For a group larger than 15, a direct reservation is also needed. Price per person for a private tour is 9.000 ISK, and 7.000 ISK for the horse rental for children.

Please be at Skeiðvellir 10 minutes before the booked departure time. Note that if you arrive more than 10 minutes after departure time, your tour might have already left. ​
